Students who otherwise wouldn’t be able to attend college are able to achieve their dreams, thanks to the support of generous individuals and organizations in our community.
We serve a diverse population of students, in which 65% are from low-income families and 43% live below the federal poverty level for their household size. The majority of our students have to work while going to college to support their families.
MDC students who need help are able to get it, from life-changing scholarships to mentoring, college advising, and other support services like the MDC Food Pantry. Our thoughtful approach to student support makes a difference.

"I received a completion scholarship, which helped me pay for tuition this year. It is so humbling to know that the community supports us so we can achieve our dreams. Today, I'm even more confident I'll own my own technology company one day. Thank you, MDC, for setting me on the right path."
Last year, $5.19 million in scholarships was distributed to students. But with a student population of 165,000 – the largest in the nation – there are not enough scholarship funds to help every student in need.
When you support students and the programs that support them, lives and families are changed.
