Braman Family Foundation Donates $1 Million to MDC, FIU for Completion Scholarships

The Braman Family Foundation is making a $1 million gift to Miami Dade College and Florida International University as an incentive for students to enroll full-time during their last year of studies to facilitate and accelerate college completion. Leadership from the Braman Family Foundation, MDC and FIU formally made the announcement Wednesday at MDC’s Wolfson Campus in downtown Miami.

Culinary Students Receive Opportunity of a Lifetime During Summer Program in France

Eight talented Miami Culinary Institute students had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to master the art of French cooking during a study abroad program in France this summer. The four-week summer program is part of an incredible culinary partnership between Miami Dade College and the prestigious Le Calabash Petit Conservatoire de la Cuisine. The students capped off their experience with initiation into the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, the world's oldest and most prestigious international food and wine society.

Marcelo Saenz Scholarship for International Students

International Students Find Opportunity

Twenty MDC students from countries spanning the globe have found new educational opportunity as recipients of the new Marcelo Saenz Scholarship Fund at Miami Dade College Foundation. Each student received up to $2,000 to help pay for tuition, books, fees and other expenses this fall semester. The Marcelo Saenz Scholarship Fund was set up for international students with unmet financial need. Tuition costs are among the highest for international students. For them, uncertainty has turned into hope for their future.

2017 Endowed Teaching Chairs

Meet the 2017 Endowed Teaching Chairs

Miami Dade College has announced the 2017 Endowed Teaching Chairs, who join the list of more than 300 faculty members honored since the program's inception in 1992. From left to right, recipients Sarah Garman, Diego TibaquiráJessyca Perez, Juán Morata and Ginny Peterson-Tennant will be recognized at an awards ceremony in December. The program is made possible because of the generosity of donors.
