Luisa Santos, Founder of Lulu's Ice Cream

Few of us work with liquid nitrogen every day or test ice cream flavors on friends and family. Miami Dade College Honors College alumna, Luisa Santos does so with delicious results. The founder of Lulu’s Ice Cream, she embarked on her entrepreneurial adventure at a Halloween party that served as her first focus group. The trick-or-treaters loved the ice cream treats she served and she was on her way.

Miami Fashion Institute Opens at Miami Dade College

Miami Dade College has launched a new degree program that will help stimulate the growth of the fashion industry in Miami. Housed under the newly formed Miami Fashion Institute, the Associate Degree in Fashion Design and Merchandising, will prepare students to enter the world of fashion and learn about the industry from both the creative and business side.

Show your MDC pride and market yourself in our “I AM MDC” ad campaign. The campaign highlights successful MDC alumni in The Miami Herald,el Nuevo Herald, and Diario Las Americas. Thanks to the achievements of our successful MDC alumni, the "I AM MDC" campaign has garnered national attention and prestige. There is no cost to participate in the campaign. Alumni must have completed at least 30 credits at MDC and currently employed.
