Bank of America funds
STEM Education

Miami Dade College seniors Samantha Cepoudy, Fernando Paragon and Antwan Daniels graduate this year with Bachelors in Science thanks in large part to the Bank of America Biosciences program through the MDC Foundation. The scholarship covers the cost of tuition, books, and lab fees. "It sounds simple, but it makes a huge difference," says Fernando. Since 2012, thirty-eight students in the School of Science at Miami Dade College, North Campus have benefited from this unique partnership.

It's where students like MDC grad Arturo Gomez enrolled in CS50x Miami, a coding program. It landed Arturo a job at Harvard University, where he'll work as preceptor in computer science.

Palley support of New World School of the Arts spans a Quarter Century

The driving force behind the creation of New World School of the Arts (NWSA), Myrna Palley engaged one thousand Miamians to contribute the funds needed to establish the conservatory for performing and visual arts. This devotion to improving our cultural scene and to educating young artists has been the hallmark of Myrna’s and her husband, Sheldon’s, life together. From gifts to create NWSA to contributions establishing a glass and studio arts pavilion at the Lowe Museum of Art, the Palleys’ dedication to the arts in Miami has been transformational.
