Miami Dade College Foundation engages individuals and organizations to support cultural programming in Miami. Marquee projects such as the Miami International Film Festival, Miami Book Fair, MDC Live Arts, Teatro Prometeo, and Confucius Institute bring diverse arts, literary, and cultural events to hundreds of thousands of South Floridians each year.
Our Confucius Institute offers events, workshops, and tutors to anyone who wants to learn about the Asian community in Miami.
A historic landmark in South Florida, the Koubek Center brings the arts to life with workshops, art exhibitions, theater and music performances, literary readings, and more. Celebrating the diversity of our region’s expression, the revitalized mansion and gardens remain true to their pioneering heritage and multicultural community.
Created in 1990 as Cultura del Lobo, MDC Live Arts has a celebrated history of bringing extraordinary national and international performing artists to Miami. The annual series presents today’s most exciting artists and designs meaningful engagement between these artists, the students of MDC, and the greater community. Become a donor to the MDC Live Arts Student Ticket Fund and provide students with the opportunity to experience the transformative power of the arts.
Described as “one of the most epic literary festivals in the world,” the Miami Book Fair International attracts the best international and national authors who shape our world with the written word. Since 1984, the book fair has featured famous writers such as P.J. O’Rourke, Joyce Carol Oates, Tom Brokaw, Dan Brown, Patricia Cornwell and Salman Rushdie, drawing an audience of 200,000+ visitors every year.
Since 1984, the Miami International Film Festival has brought the finest in world cinema to South Florida. MDC and the Festival joined forces in 2003, expanding into 11 official venues, countless parties, and a red carpet scene that has attracted tour de force actors such as Michael Caine, Helen Hunt, Antonio Banderas, Rosie Perez, Christopher Plummer, and Gloria Estefan – just to name a few.
Teatro Prometeo is the only Spanish-language theater conservatory in the nation and enjoys partnerships with the Lincoln Center Director’s Lab West, Boston’s Lau Lapides Company, and Union College. Our Prometeítos program for children has delivered Saturday Theatre Arts classes for 20 years.
