Our abundant arts and culture offerings include the New World School of the Arts, Museum of Art + Design, and the study of Humanities. We fulfill our students’ needs for knowledge, artistic training, and expression while providing a wide array of cultural experiences for our entire community.
The College’s New World School of the Arts is the country’s premier center of excellence in the visual and performing arts. NWSA develops students in dance, music, theater and visual arts from ninth grade through bachelor’s level degrees. Students at NWSA benefit from opportunities including world-renowned faculty and guest artists, internships, foreign exchange visits, and artistic and cultural events unique to South Florida. In addition, the school enriches the cultural life of the local community by offering many concerts, performances, and art exhibitions. Miami Dade College Foundation funds scholarships and programs at NWSA offering students the opportunity to pursue their artistic dreams.
The Museum of Art + Design is Miami Dade College’s flagship institution dedicated to the presentation and exhibition of visual art and design. The Museum of Art + Design provides its patrons and visitors access to unique cultural, historical, and educational exhibitions, an expanding permanent art collection, Freedom Tower archives, and newly established design collection. The Museum of Art + Design is one of the most accessible institutions in South Florida with its ability to reach diverse audiences and where encounters with great works of art, design and culture happen around every corner.
